The Tehran-based Taliya independent prepaid mobile phone network began offering services in Tehran to its subscribers as of May 1995, on the anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr (southwest Iran) from Iraqi forces occupation. Then in the next phase Taliya began offering services in other Iranian provinces, expanding its network rapidly.
