State SIM cards selling very slowly in new round – Syndicate
February 6, 2007 12:56 AM
Tehran, Feb 7, Taliya News – Head of Mobile Sets & SIM Cards Dealers Syndicate said here Sunday people have rendered a very cold welcome to new wound of state SIM card registration.
Afshar Foroutan Larijani attributed the unprecedented low sales of state SIM cards in this round to the declining trend of state SIM card prices and the losses that state SIM card buyers of the last round suffered.
Some eight million people applied for state SIM cards in mid last winter, paying 3,600,000 Rial deposits, some of whom receive their SIM cards at a time that the black market price for them was 200,000 Rials below the official price.
He added, “Due to the diversity of SIM cards in the market, such as the presence of Taliya and IranCell SIM cards, the declining trend of state SIM card prices has even been further accelerated.”
Foroutan said, “It is quite natural that due to the prevailing circumstances the price of some SIM cards increases in the market and the price of some others decrease and such fluctuations can continue in the future as well.”
He predicted that the price of SIM cards will not be increased noticeably in Iran anymore.
