Tehran, April 30, Taliya News – Based on a ratification of the Supreme Cultural Revolution Council (SCRC) the obscene and pornographic MMS messages forwarded on mobile phones would from now on be filtered.
According to Fars News Agency, the three officials that have approve of filtering on mobile phone messages include the Culture & Islamic Guidance Minister, the IRIB Chief, and the ICT Minister that have commissioned the ICT Ministry to acquire the required software and hardware for the purpose.
The SCRC ratification dates as recent as after the Iranian New Year holidays (late March).
IranCell SMS is already active, and the state SMS is scheduled to get activated in late summer.
SMS service enables the uses to send text messages, but using the MMS, or the Multimedia Messaging Service the users can also send photos, music, e-mails, and video films.
