SIM card prices keep increasing at markets
April 11, 2007 8:24 AM
Tehran, April 12, Taliya News – Head of SIM Cards, Mobile Sets & Accessories Dealers Syndicate believes only reason for increased price of 1st Operator’s 1, 2, and 3 code SIM cards is their being old.
Afshar Foroutan Larijani further reiterated in an interview with ISNA, “Noticeable increase of the price of those SIM cards was predictable in advance, since they are no longer presented officially, but the occurrence of this phenomenon was a bit premature.”
He further stressed that the old codes are no longer offered and their number would therefore neither be increased, nor altered in any way, he said, “The buyers of such cards are inclined to do so due to psychological reasons, and I believe the price of them would still keep increasing, leading to widening the gap with the new codes, while such increases depend on market potentials, as well.”
Foroutan said, “Periodical decrease of the SIM card prices led to the exit of investors from this field, and led to the stagnation of SIM card marker for a while, but as of the beginning of the New Year the increasing price of the old code SIM cards injected a new blood in the veins of the market once again, and there are new developments ahead, too, naturally.”
According to the head of SIM Cards, Mobile Sets & Accessories Dealers Syndicate, if the increasing state SIM card prices will not reach a stable point the investors, too, might re-enter this field in near future, temporarily.
He believes parallel to increase of paying SIM cards on installments basis, the amount of investments made in the field would increase and the number of investors, too, would be multiplied.
