Commercial production of Iranian video games promoted

Tehran, May 21, Taliya News – Technical Deputy of Supreme Information Dissemination Council said here Saturday a plan is being prepared at Interior Ministry in form of a “bonuses package” for facilitating commercial production of computer and video games, whose details would soon be announced.
According to ISNA, Behrouz Mina’ie pointing out that the surveys and follow up programs aimed at improving the market conditions and facilitating the commercial production of such games, reiterated, “The said plan would be pursued by the concerned organs, including the National Computer Games Foundation, the Modern Industries Center, Export Promotion Center of Iran, Center for Intellectual Development of Children & Young Adults, and the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).”
He noted that over 30 private sector companies and complexes are now involved in production of video games and other recreational activities, he emphasized, “Definitely relying on sharing thoughts and close comprehensive cooperation of those involved in this field the production of computer games and expansion of this activity would take place much faster and during a much shorter span of time.
The Technical Affairs Deputy of the Supreme Information Dissemination Council said, “The signs of industrial development in the field of computer games can be already observed in the production of a number of quite innovative new games presented to the markets this year.”
