May 8, 2007 8:02 AM
Tehran, May 8, Taliya News – Following IranCell’s decision to have double bill calculation methods, based on minutes and seconds bases, Radio Communications & Regulations Organization (RCRO) Public Relations Head said the decision was legally approved.
Mohammad-Reza Forqani added in an interview with CITNA, “The RCRO tries to issue all its licenses in accordance with country’s laws and based on defined business plans.”
On legality of IranCell’s decision on adopting double tariffs for its subscribers, he said, “Any operator is entitled to apply various types of options for its subscribers, but of course, prior to doing so it should inform the RCRO of its decision and obtain this regulatory organization’s approval.”
Forqanizadeh said, “Keeping in mind the proposed tariffs by IranCell, the seconds’ basis is appropriate for subscribers who often have short calls, while the minutes pulse tariffs are better for those that have lengthier calls than three minutes.”
