Two Strategic Computer Games for Iranian children
May 26, 2007 9:48 PM
Tehran, May 26, Taliya News – Iranian children will have the chance to experience two indigenous strategic computer games on their personal computers.
The two games dubbed ‘The Story of Islands’ and ‘Way of Championship’ are bilingual. The Center for Intellectual Developments of Children and Young Adults (CIDCYA) is also experimenting two multimedia software programs on astronomy and one for the children called ‘Friends’ Stories’, which will be supplied to the market soon.
At the game, the Iranian children will try to inhabit at the three deserted and remote islands, link them to the mainland, and turn them into tourist spots.
The key figure of the game ‘Way of Championship’ is a child, who is interested in football. The kid should consider different elements that can help him become a champion, including learning proper morality, and social behavior and constant exercising, and avoid elements which can get in the way of progress and championship in this field.
New software of the center will be presented in June, if the budget for pursuing the projects is provided properly.
An expert active in manufacturing such software said on the sidelines of the National Digital Media & Multimedia Software Festival that the process of manufacturing computer games can turn into a systematized trend.
Amir-Hossein Salamzadeh added that the Center will apply its limited budget to help the domestic manufacturers in this respect.
The center considers itself not a rival for those companies, but makes efforts to hinder other sectors’ attempts with in a bid to end the declining production trend of such indigenous software and games, he noted.
The expert also said, “In order to be able to have something worthwhile in the market, which is full of foreign products, we should manufacture native computer games to be judged by main stream costumers.
“Following the path laid by aliens and copying foreign models will not led to success, because our budget would then be limited to manufacturing the same games and we will obtain the development stage gained by years ago,” he added.
The center showcased more than 33 computer products in the Iran First National Digital Media Festival, including movies, multimedia software, computer games, film books, CD books and educational software, which were thronged by the visitors.
The festival ended in the Tehran Permanent International Fairground on May 21.
