Boost for cell phone business

Taliya News - Sixty per cent of Iranians talk on cell phones, which would be about 17 to 19 million people, said the public relation base of Iran Mobile.
In its last report, the Telecommunication and Informative media Institute said 3 thousand million people use cell phones in all over the world.
A survey by the Telecommunication Company of Iran said the ranking of Iran among 220 countries in the use of cell phone is 135, and in the number of customers is 33.
The critical issue facing a number of customers is whether the amount of penetration of cell phones in Iran, which is about 29 per cent, would be developed into 40 per cent in 2007; however, the amount of penetration of cell phone in some countries is 100 per cent.
Vahid Sadooghi, the president of Telecommunication Company of Iran, said:'' The ranking of Iran among the southwest countries, which are about 15 countries, in the use of cell phone is 11, while in the number of countries has the second ranking.''
He added the Telecommunication Company of Iran ranks 37 among all the operators of the world and second among all the operators in the Middle East.
He said that they have established Telecommunication Company of Iran in 1373. 176 transmitters and receivers have been used to offer 200 numbers by the capacity of about 9 thousand numbers in 124 bases in Tehran, which developed into the whole country during the next year. 15 thousand cell phones and 905 numbers have been offered to customers in Mashhad, Tabriz, Isfahan, Shiraz, and Ahwaz in 1374.
