Non-delivered SMS messages charged – despite authorities’ pledges
January 29, 2008 3:32 PM
MOBNA – Although Mobile Telecommunications directors, when meeting the press last December 15, promised to eliminate charges for non-delivered prepaid SIM card SMS messages the following week, and do the same for the postpaid from the following month, subscribers are still being charged for non-delivered SMS messages.
Mohammad Hussein Fallah Asghari, MTC’s Monitoring & Supervision deputy told MOBNA elimination of non-delivered SMS charges are under review but has not yet been applied.
He added that problems occurring in IN system regarding elimination of charges of non-delivered SMS messages for prepaid SIM cards have been resolved.
He stressed such elimination would not affect MTC’s earnings.
Earlier, it had been claimed that non-delivered SMS messages caused overhead expenses to the network, and its elimination would lead to lesser income for 1st Operator.
