Over 4,000 rural ICT bureaus setup

MOBNA – Although, based on the 4th Economic Plan, 2,500 rural ICT bureaus are to be setup across the country, Ministry of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) has announced over 4,296 such bureaus have been operational by last December 21.
According to MOBNA, and based on ICT PR department report, by last December 21 some 5,349 rural ICT bureaus were equipped in the country, of which 131 bureaus were equipped in November 22 – December 21 period alone.
East Azerbaijan, Mazandaran, Razavi Khorasan and Golestan provinces with 444, 256, 249, 227 and 220 operational rural ICT bureaus, respectively, were ranked 1st to 5th.
According to the report, East Azerbaijan, Razavi Khorasan, Isfahan, Fars and West Azerbaijan provinces, by equipping 750, 367, 320, 312 and 256 rural ICT bureaus, respectively, were ranked 1st to 5th.
In June 22 – July 22 period 2,359 rural ICT bureaus were operational whereas in November 22 - December 21 period the figure was 4,269, showing a 70% growth in 5 months.
