Domestic Manufacturing Needs Cooperation of Leading Domestic Companies
February 20, 2008 10:13 AM
TaliyaNews - Leading domestic companies should cooperate in manufacturing of the handsets, said the president of Telecommunication Committee of the Parliament.
Mr. Ramazanali Sadeghzadeh said: ‘Leading companies should cooperate in domestic manufacturing of the handsets to offer the latest in handset technology.’
He added: ‘The maintenance of the high tariff, which is 60 percent, has annoyed the customers and made major smuggling of the handsets happen.
He talked about the figures custom has published and said: ‘The tariff on imports made 1 million and 500 thousand handsets been imported legally, while 4 million and 500 thousand ones had been smuggled.’
He talked over the increase of the tariff, which is about 56 percent, which was not a good experience as no domestic handset has been manufactured.
The customers would be supported by the reduction of the tariff, and; consequently, the domestic producers would work on assembling the components of CDKs.
