Mohamad Bagher Zohorifar said: “During Muslim pilgrimage, connections on calls made over substantial distances, from Iran to Saudi Arabia, were completed in 14 million minutes while it was 3 million minutes from Saudi Arabia to Iran.”
Tehran telecommunication has provided the telephone network that sends calls over long distances, Iran and Saudi Arabia, which has been calculated to be 28 thousand minutes.
He said that Zirsakht Company has provided 1050 channels, according to which 300 channels has been added, for hajjis’ communications.
He added that it has been done as a contract has been signed with a Saudi telecommunication company; it is inexpensive as it is 5.5 cents per minute. Therefore, it was more economical for the Iranian hajjis, and cost-effective for the government as 220 thousand dollars currency brought in.
