Tariff is used in order to avoid the smuggling of the products and support the production of the domestic handsets; however, the fluctuation of the prices of the handsets, the smuggling of the products of poor quality, and the loss incurred to the customers are the results of the increase of the tariff.
Some experts believe that tariff should be 25 percent, as the domestic manufacturing of the handsets should be protected and the legal import of the handsets should be augmented. However, some believe the fluctuation of the tariff would make some economic difficulties in Iran.
